How to export all your Snapchat Memories
1. Open “My Data”
On a computer, sign in at accounts.snapchat.com and click My Data. In the app: Profile → Settings (gear) → My Data.
2. Turn on “Export your Memories”
Under “Select data to include”, switch on Export your Memories. Keep Export JSON files on too: the memories_history.json file is what holds the real date, time and location of every Memory. Snap also offers a Request Only Memories button for a Memories-only export.
3. Choose the date range
Toggle the range off (or pick everything) to get all of your Memories. Longer ranges take longer to prepare.
4. Submit and wait
Confirm your email and submit. Snap says it “strive[s] to deliver data within 7 days, but large downloads can take longer.” You can also check See exports on the same page.
5. Download every part
Large accounts get several files named like mydata~1792240000.zip. Download all of them. Inside you’ll find a memories/ folder with files such as 2019-07-14_AE97…-main.mp4 and …-overlay.png, plus json/memories_history.json.
6. Fix dates and captions before importing
If you copy the raw files to your phone or upload them to Google Photos now, they will all show the download date. Drop the ZIPs into Restamp to write the real capture date, GPS and captions into the files, then upload the result. Read why the dates are wrong for the details.
Restore your export in your browser
Drop the Snapchat ZIP parts and get every Memory back with its real date, place and captions. Nothing is uploaded.
